Welcome to the Class 2 . We are a mixed Year 3 and Year 4 class, taught by Mrs Fortescue and supported by Mrs Coxon.

Mrs Athey and Mrs Chisholm  teach in Class 2 on a Wednesday covering computing, PSHE and P.E

We enjoyed our first few days back to school learning about 'The Big Frieze' by Emma Yarlett which helps us to understand the Christianity school curriculum.

In our Science lessons we have started to learn about sound and how it is made. We discovered that sound is made when something vibrates. We used a tuning fork and felt the vibrations, we also saw water splashing when we hit the tuning fork against something and put it in a bowl of water. The vibrating fork also made a ping pong ball move. We realised that these vibrations help to carry sound through the mediums of air and water.

In R.E this half term we are learning about The Creation Story and what Christians can learn from this. We started by going outside to appreciate our wonderful surroundings and notice how things we see every day are beautiful when we actually stop to look at them.

In our art lessons we have been learning to begin a sketch by drawing the shapes we see before adding the additional details.

When we notice someone being kind or when we recognise that we have been kind ourselves we write this down and add it to our kindness tree.

Reverend Rich presented the Year 3 children with a Bible today. The Bibles are kindly donated by St Bartholemew's Church and the local community. The children keep their Bible in school and then when they leave our school in year 6 they can take their Bible with them. As you can see the children were delighted and have been using them already in our R.E lesson.
