Welcome to Early Years (Nursery and Reception), the class teacher is Mrs Marsden and the class are supported by Mrs Manners (Monday-Wednesday) and Miss Forrest (Thursday and Friday). Mrs Athey teaches RE and PE on a Thursday afternoon.

We are delighted to welcome you and your child to our class community. This page is a space where we will share highlights of the wonderful learning experiences taking place in our classroom.

In Early Years and Reception, we focus on creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel happy, confident, and ready to learn. Through play, exploration, and hands-on activities, we support each child as they develop their curiosity, independence, and love for learning.

Throughout the year, we will be exploring exciting themes, building new skills, and celebrating every child’s achievements—big and small. We look forward to working in partnership with you to support your child’s growth and development.

We had a wonderful first week back welcoming all the children. We had a big focus on the big frieze in RE and understanding that the big book which shares the story of God's love with us is the Bible and it has many stories that create one big story. The children enjoyed creating their own big frieze pictures and talking about them as they drew their own interpretations. 

Look at us! We had so much fun painting our self portraits, we used mirrors to look at teh colour of our eyes, hair, skin and we mixed the colours too.

We have started learning our sounds in our Read, Write Inc sessions and have been having fun practising to write them.

Our value we are thinking about most this term is - kindness. We had the opportunity to reflect in our reflection area about what being kind means, when we have been kind and perhaps when someone has been kind to us. We then shared when we had been kind or received kindness and wrote these on hearts for our kindness tree.

At Forest School we picked some apples from our apple tree and the next day we made apple crumble. All reception had a go at peeling an apple and chopping it up. Super work! Mrs Wardropper cooked it in her oven and in the afternoon we all tried it! Super teamwork. We had a whole crumble left and so to be kind we donated it to someone in our village community, we hope they enjoyed it too!
