Monday 4th January 2021
Daily wake up: daily mile/ exercise.
Reading/ quizzing (parents to record pages read and comment of Dojo).
English: Write a descriptive recount of what happened in the holidays.
Maths: fraction question sheets (identifying, comparing and calculating equivalent fractions).
Art/ PSHCE: self reflection and art task based on personal qualities and wishes.

Daily wake up: daily mile or alternative exercise.
Reading: comprehension based on the class' questions to Mr Charlton.
English: descriptive writing based on yourself as part of creating a Top Trump-style card about yourself. (Mr Charlton will make the cards from the elements covered from today.)
Maths: Top Trumps-style maths where we will rate ourselves in certain aspects and the convert these ratings into equivalent fractions in order to create graphs.
Art: practicing sketching techniques to then draw and shade a superhero.

Maths: calculating fractions of amounts
Music: research and create an information text about gospel music.

To ensure the consistent engagement and progress of your child(ren), we are planning to run some virtual groups for Reading and Maths to begin with. These sessions will be targeted groups to support your child(ren) further with their learning. As such, please look out for invites to Google Meets over the next weeks, hopefully beginning from tomorrow or failing that on Friday.

From here and any other research that you do, create an information text about Sir Isaac Newton and gravity (this could be done as a poster, a leaflet, a huge spider-diagram etc - the choice is entirely up to you).

English: identifying and using different types of clauses & reading comprehension.
Maths: adding and subtracting fractions. (I will upload a video to explain the methods to use.)
Science: identify and label a world map before researching about each continent (its population, number of countries within each continent, how big it is, what languages they speak within each continent, etc.).
