Today in our PE session we refreshed our skills by practicing our throwing and catching. We worked in partners to show how well we can work as part of a team too! We definitely made the most of the lovely sunny weather today!
We've had a very busy first week back. We have settled into our new routine brilliantly and have enjoyed starting our learning in Maths, English, History, Art and PE. We've also voted for our new class book, Mr. Penguin and the lost treasure by Alex T. Smith. We are very excited to get started on this stroy!

We are loving our little kickers sessions in PE! We have been practising lots of different skills including passing and sending.

We are currently looking at building on our addition and subtraction knowledge and are really enjoying all the practical activities.
Science - Autumn

We are currently looking at the Weather in our Science lessons. We have started this by looking at the four different seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We have looked closely at what these seasons mean and what happens during them. Whilst we have been exploring Autumn, we went on an Autumn walk around our school grounds looking for signs of Autumn. We found lots of different ones, including berries, acorns and crunchy leaves!
Young Minds Awareness Day - 10th October

On October 10th, we took part in World Mental Health Day! We came to school wearing yellow to raise awareness of mental health and well-being. Class One was able to show a variety of different shades of yellow. Well done Class One!

In PSHE this half term, we have been exploring the Zones of Regulation. We have looked at what each zone represents and the feelings that go with them. We now understand that it is ok to be any of of the zones and that these can change over the day. We have also explored different strategies to help us when we are feeling frustrated, angry or upset.

In History this half term, we have been learning about the Great Fire of London. We have explored different evidence as well as learning key facts about how the fire started, where it happened, when it happened and how they tired to help put the fire out. We have also looked at Samuel Pepys and how important he was and his diaries.
Alnwick Playhouse Visit - I believe in Unicorns

We had a fantastic time at the Alnwick playhouse watching I believe in Unicorns. The children thoroughly enjoyed this show and were sitting on the edge of their seats throughout! We were all very well behaved too! Well done Class One!
Science Experiment - October

This week we have been continuing our learning about the weather. We explored where we get rain from and completed our very own rain cloud in a jar. We loved watching the cloud disperse the rain!

We took part in our annual harvest festival in St Bartholomew's church. We were brilliant at singing and performing our Harvest acrostic. Well done Class One!

We have been learning about Remembrance Sunday this week and to show our support, we created so Remembrance biscuits.
