Bending Water!

The children learned that when you rub a balloon on your hair, negative charges (electrons) move from your hair to the surface of the balloon, giving the balloon a negative charge.  Using slow running water from the tap which is  holds positive and negatives, they placed a balloon near the running stream of water ' bending the water'.  This happens because positive charges part from the water molecules ( the hydrogen atoms) which are attracted to the negative charges in the balloon.
